Yap Session: No One Asked but I’m Explaining Anyway lol (about keeping some things private)

I don’t really advertise my blog. No one really knows I do this except maybe my mom, a few friends.. and that’s pretty much it!

So if you’re reading this, I might not know you personally–or maybe I do. Or maybe you know me and just ended up here somehow lol.

Basically, this little yap session is just me explaining why I don’t mention my boyfriend’s name or his band, even though I think I mentioned them before. Why I don’t show some people's faces, why I don’t really yap about their songs, and why I keep certain parts of that world private here.

It’s simple: I love my boyfriend, and I love my friends.

I deeply respect what they do. Especially my boyfriend, who genuinely just lights up when he’s playing the drums and doesn’t really care about fame or money, just as long he can play his drums.

I’ve been there since the very beginning–like, actually the beginning. We were kids, maybe around 15, just watching them jam in my boyfriend’s old house. I was there for their first ever gig too (like first ever ever), the kind where my boyfriend had to paalam for my mom’s permission because we were still kids and gigs end late, and I even had to bring a kasambahay with me as a chaperone. And somehow, I haven’t missed a single gig since!

I was there during the pandemic when they’d join Battle of the Bands online, when they were still figuring everything out, and when they first started talking about forming this current band.

I was there when they played small restobar gigs, just me and their families as audience. Before they had a manager, before things felt more “official.”

I watched them build everything from scratch–funding projects on their own, writing songs, producing, editing music videos, making random TikToks just to promote their work, even editing their own promotional photos. I’d help too–holding reflectors during shoots, being around during music videos, and just.. being there for whatever they needed. I know the stories behind their songs, the in-between moments, the quiet parts people don’t usually see.

I was even there (back in 2019) when my boyfriend would casually ask one of his bandmates for advice on making a song.. not knowing the song they were talking about was actually for me lol! 

And honestly, that’s their thing! Music is their world. My thing is basically being dramatic on the internet and feeling songs way too deeply lol.

So yeah! That’s exactly why it feels weird for me to publicly dissect their music or treat it like something separate from my real life.

They’re my friends. He’s my boyfriend.

And that’s also why I’ve set a boundary here. This blog is something I created for myself–to process, to express, to write freely–and I want it to stay that way. It's just me protecting that space so it doesn’t blur into something it’s not meant to be.. if that makes sense..

I’m more than happy being the stage girlfriend, the friend in the background, the supporter off to the side cheering them on without needing to be in the spotlight.

So if you’re here reading this, thank you for sitting with my thoughts for a while–whether you know me in real life or you just stumbled into this corner of the internet. I hope it made sense, or at least felt a little human.
